Beat Assured Quality Mark for Sussex Eating Disorder Service 18 July 2012

climbingSussex Partnership’s Family Eating Disorder Service (FEDS) in West Sussex has achieved recognition from leading national eating disorders charity Beat.

The award of the Beat Assured quality mark follows an assessment of the service by Beat volunteers, who spoke at length with current patients and their family members about their experience of treatment.

‘I have found the FEDS to be extremely helpful in my recovery,’ was the response of one patient. ‘They have all been encouraging and have helped to make a big improvement in not only my eating, but my day to day life. I honestly don’t know what else the FEDS team could have done to help, they have been fantastic.’

Bev Kirwan, Team Leader for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Family Eating Disorder Service in Sussex Partnership, said, 'We are delighted to receive this accreditation for the West Sussex team of the Family Eating Disorder Service (FEDS) provided within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. It demonstrates that we are providing a high standard of care and that we are making a valuable difference to the lives of the young people and their families who use the service.'
