How our Trust is run

Our Board and

Governors

As an NHS Foundation Trust, we can give patients, staff and the public the chance to become members or governors with a formal say over how our organisation is run. We also have more freedom to shape services that match the needs of local people.

The regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts, NHS Improvement, makes sure our organisation is well-led so patients receive quality care. The Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and social care, regularly inspects our services to make sure they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

Our Board of Directors is made up of executive and non-executive directors. The Board sets our strategic aims and objectives and monitors our performance. Our Council of Governors includes patients, carers, staff and members who have been elected. The Council holds the Board to account and provides a direct link with our local community. Our constitution explains our purpose and how we are governed.

Our Board of Directors and Council of Governors hold meetings in public so anyone can come along. Papers for each Board meeting are available on this page by the Thursday before each meeting date. All Board meeting documents are available in other formats. If you would like to come along to a Board meeting and need support, such as interpreting, please contact Michelle Jasilek on 0300 304 4459 or michelle.jasilek@sussexpartnership.nhs.uk
