a difference

5 reasons to join us

1. We want to provide the best possible care

We want patients and staff to recommend our organisation as a place where they would be happy for their friends and family to be treated. You can help us do this by bringing your skills, experience and commitment to Sussex Partnership.

You’ll be joining an organisation which is committed to improving patient care. We are always trying to improve. We listen to and learn from feedback. We carry out healthcare research and put it into practice. We develop new ways of providing services in partnership with others and help staff develop through education and training. We also believe it's important to learn from when things go wrong and to encourage staff to speak out about anything they are concerned about.

Our values

Our values

People first. Future focused. Embracing change. Working together. Everyone counts.

Our vision

Outstanding care and treatment you can be confident in.

We value you

2. We value you

We were Diverse Company of the Year (2014) at the National Diversity Awards. In the same year we were also rated 2nd in Stonewall’s Top 10 healthcare organisations committed to improving the health of lesbian, gay and bisexual people. These awards recognise the importance we place on ensuring everyone is treated fairly and valued equally.

We believe people should be able to achieve their full potential regardless of age, disability, race, nationality, ethnic or national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or domestic circumstances.

Living in the south east

3. South east England is a great place to live and work

As one of the largest NHS mental health trusts in the country, with services covering Sussex, Hampshire and Kent, there’s plenty of choice about where to work and live if you join us. We’ve got the sea right on our doorstep, the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove, areas of natural outstanding beauty and many historic towns.

Excellent transport links mean you can commute to work from London. Or you may be someone who has been doing the commute in the other direction and now want to work closer to home.

Work life balance

4. We can help with your work / life balance

We can offer you flexible working opportunities like carer’s leave, job-sharing, career breaks, parental leave, paternity and adoption leave.  We also have an in-house staff bank, which means you can have the flexibility of working occasional shifts within our services. Contact our bank team to find out more: 01273 718699 or bank@sussexpartnership.nhs.uk.

5. We’ll offer you a staff benefits package

Our lease car scheme gives you the opportunity to get a new car without having to make a full purchase up front. You can also apply for a loan to purchase a new bicycle and cycling equipment, which is then repaid from your salary before tax and other deductions. These are just a couple of examples of the benefits you can gain by joining us.
