Sussex Partnership provides mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services across Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, West Sussex and parts of Hampshire.
We achieved NHS Foundation Trust with teaching status in August 2008 and now serve a population of 1.5 million people, employ over 4800 staff, and see people who use our services more than 600,000 times a year.
As a Foundation Trust we are still part of the NHS but we have greater freedom to plan ahead and develop services needed by local people. Foundation Trusts have control over the money they receive, meaning all the money coming in, including any savings we make, go into improving services. But the real difference is that we are directly accountable to the people of Sussex through our members and governors.
