We were one of the first mental health trusts in the country to receive Veteran Aware accreditation from the Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance. We are a founding member of the Sussex Armed Forces Network and have more than 90 Armed Forces Champions working across the Trust who are trained to support veterans and families, as well as offering advice to colleague who are supporting veterans.

We believe that those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, veterans or their families should face no disadvantage, especially within our own recruitment processes.
We proactively demonstrate our forces-friendly credentials by having a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for members of the Armed Forces Community.
Step into Health
We are a member of Step into Health, offering members of the Armed Forces Community an access route into a new career with the NHS.
You may have clinical skills and qualifications that meet the criteria for certain roles at Sussex Partnership. However, we also employ people in a range of non-clinical roles, including administration, finance, estates and facilities, digital, communications and management.
Armed Forces Community staff network
In 2022, we launched the Armed Forces Community staff network, a growing network of staff members, ex-service personnel, reservists and family members who offer peer-led support through drop ins, events and social activities.
Andy Stubbs is the Trust's Armed Forces Covenant Lead Manager and co-chair of the Trust's Armed Forces staff network. Andy identifies, connects and supports staff who have a British Armed Forces connection.
