At the moment patients and their families are waiting longer than we would like. This is due to a variety of reasons which are outlined here (link to FAQs) and also because of an increase in demand on our service and our small team covering a large geographical area.
We, as a Trust, are aware of this and have raised the issue to the highest level. We are working with our commissioners to identify ways to reduce the time people have to wait.
If you would like to provide the trust with feedback regarding this, we would encourage you to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0300 304 21 98 or email PALS@sussexpartnership.nhs.uk.
If you feel your assessment needs to be expedited, please have your GP write to us with a clinical reason to expedite and we will review it. Unfortunately as most of the individuals on our waiting list are experiencing similar difficulties we are rarely able to accommodate these requests.
We are not an emergency service. If you feel you are in need of immediate support, please seek help from your GP, in a crises phone the Mental Health Rapid Response Service on 0300 304 00 78 in B&H (24hr) or the 24/7 Sussex Mental Health Line on 0800 0309 500, in an emergency call 111.
