The East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT) is a provider of acute and specialist services that serves a population of approximately 525,000 people across East Sussex. It provides a total of 833 beds including 19 Critical care beds (11 at Conquest Hospital, 8 at Eastbourne District General Hospital). There are over 140 nurses who work in critical care in the intensive care unit and high dependency unit plus a medical team and colleagues who may require support.
The psychology service in critical care is commissioned by ESHT and provided by Sussex Partnership NHS Trust. The service is commissioned to provide a clinical psychologist to work with patients, relatives and staff in the ESHT critical care services.
