Sussex Psychosis Research Interest Group

Event Description

Professor Filippo Varese will provide an overview of recent advancement in the understanding and treatment of psychotic experiences using EMDR – a trauma-focused psychological therapy of growing popularity in the UK and internationally. Filippo will particularly outline the findings of the EASE trial, a recent feasibility RCT of ‘EMDR for psychosis’ for service users with first episode psychosis supported by Early Intervention services, and insights from the ongoing RESTART trial, the first UK RCT of trauma-focused therapy for clients at ultra-high risk for psychosis.

The Sussex Psychosis Research Interest Group (SPRiG) is led by Professor Kathy Greenwood and brings together clinical and academic researchers within the University of Sussex, Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The SPRiG group holds a monthly hour-long, usually on the last Wednesday of the month (apart from in July and August) and everyone is welcome to join via an online Zoom link. The link to join is always the same:
