Youth Intensive Psychological Practitioners share their experience
The aim of the event was to recognise and reflect upon the excellent work the YIPPs have done to embed these new roles into a wide range of Tier 4 CAMHS services, working in partnership with existing professionals and staff.
Both the Wessex and Dorset and Kent and Sussex Provider Collaboratives have been involved in the programme and recruited a number of YIPPs who are based within several of the NHS provider trusts.
Representing Dorset Healthcare were Bridget Greenslade and Eleanor Raven-vause. They presented their experiences of working as YIPPs and how they have supported a number of young people in in-patient and community settings. They also talked about how they have supported staff teams to apply a psychology-skills based approach to their work.
The NHS England Workforce, Training & Education team are now waiting on the results of the formal evaluation of the programme to inform a review of how these roles might be further embedded within the Tier 4 workforce.
