Operation Courage - The Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Service

We're part of Op COURAGE South East.

We provide free mental health and wellbeing services to ex-serving members of the UK Armed Forces and service personnel, including those who are making the transition to civilian life and reservists.

We work with veterans and service leavers living in, or registered with a GP in, East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton & Hove. You can self-refer, or you can contact us to discuss your referral. We accept referrals from any professional or agency working with a veteran. We also offer support to family, friends and carers.

You can:

  • Refer yourself 
  • Ask a family member or friend to refer you (they must have your permission)
  • Ask your GP to refer you
  • Ask a charity or a health professional to refer you.

You'll be asked to confirm your service number when you refer yourself, so please make sure you have this to hand.

We'll then arrange a time for you to meet a clinician to have a review to make sure you get the right care and support you need.
