Meet the team…Sinead Wileman

Tell us a bit about your role?
As the Quality and Safeguarding Lead for Adult Eating Disorders I genuinely love what I do. I am especially passionate about focusing on patient voice and experience, and I am committed to improving both the quality of care and the way people experience services.
How long have you been in your role/worked for the PC?
Around 3 years now, which has flown by.
What's the best thing about your job?
I come from a social work background and remain strongly connected to my social work values and identity. I continue to support other social workers through supervision, training, and practice education mentoring, which is something I find incredibly rewarding.
I am also the co-chair of the Women's Network, which I value as a space to come together, share, and promote equality. As a feminist, it's important to me that we create inclusive, supportive environments where people can thrive.
Another part of my role that I really enjoy is working on innovation within adult eating disorder services and finding new ways to improve care and make a real difference.
How did you get into the role?
I moved from a Local Authority, into a secondment opportunity with the forensics team with SPFT, and from there formed an interest in Provider Collaboratives and the innovation in commissioning they can allow.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I am a mum to children aged between 6 and 16, so life is a bit of a juggle but one I embrace. I enjoy reading, going to the cinema, and playing board games with my family. I also love catching up with friends whenever I can.
Is there anything people would be surprised to know about you?
I absolutely love the Eurovision Song Contest, have never missed one and even attended in person when we had the honour of hosting in Liverpool!
