How to take part

Here are the different ways you can get involved in mental health and dementia research.

We have a number of mental health and dementia research studies that are actively recruiting.

You can find out more about all of our studies, including ones that are now closed, on our research studies page or you can download our latest study leaflets for mental health and dementia and memory studies.

Please get in touch if you'd like to have a chat about any of our studies:

If you'd like to use your 'lived experience' to get involved in shaping research, see our Use your experience to shape our research page.

The Participant Research Experience Survey (PRES) is an annual nationally standardised survey used to collect views and experiences of participating in NIHR-supported research. PRES was developed by the NIHR Clinical Research Network to demonstrate to research participants that their contribution is valued, and to help make meaningful improvements to research based on people’s real-life experience.

Feedback from research participants can help researchers understand both what they are doing well and where there are opportunities to improve.  At Sussex Partnership, we use that feedback to make improvements in the way we do research. This includes trying to make the information about studies available in a easy-read format, and also making it easier to take part by making appointments convenient to you, and at a location that suits you, which could be in your own home.

If you've taken part in one of our studies, we'd really like to hear your feedback. You can do this by filling in the participant research experience survey.

This is a UK-wide registry for people who are happy to be contacted about dementia research opportunities. It is open to anyone aged 18+ with or without a diagnosis.

The site allows people to register their interest in taking part in dementia research. Once you have registered the information you provide will be used to match you to relevant studies in your area.
