Provider Collaborative to extend its partnership with Orri

Orri at home, alongside other intensive community pathways, will fill a service gap in Kent and Sussex and help to reduce the number of people admitted to hospital and the length of time people stay in hospital.

The move follows two pilots with Orri, which showed promising outcomes in terms of clinical effectiveness, patient experience, and reduced reliance on inpatient admissions.

Access to virtual day treatment allows patients to continue living at home whilst receiving intensive interventions. It also means they benefit from ongoing support from their family, friends and community and can apply new skills learned through day treatment to ‘real-life’ situations.

A recent report – There's No Place Like Home – which was published by eating disorders charity, BEAT highlighted the urgent need to expand eating disorder intensive community and day treatments to people of all ages across the UK.

Orri at home will be a rolling programme, offering flexible, stepped care in the form of intensive treatment from home. It meets the growing need for enhanced alternatives to admission for adults who do not require an inpatient admission but need more intensive support than what standard community provision can offer.

The Provider Collaborative is looking forward to continuing its partnership with Orri to support patients with eating disorders across Kent and Sussex.
