Trial of new app for parents and carers to prevent relapse

Thirty families and carers will take part in the trial of the app, which is delivered by Univa and offers advice about eating disorders. Families and carers will be able to book individual sessions with specialist carer coaches and receive advice to strengthen communication, confidence, and hope for recovery. This personalised programme for family members and carers provides learning and support from eating disorder experts via video and message chat.
The App is accessible and available 24/7, offering guidance and empowering carers, whether they be parents, partners, siblings, or friends. It has been co-produced with people with lived experience of eating disorders, family members, and specialised clinicians to ensure it addresses needs with genuine understanding and practical advice.
This is an innovative trial to find new ways of supporting families and carers in Kent and Sussex, to enhance relapse prevention, promote recovery, and keep people at home, in their communities, wherever possible.
