Since its formation, the Provider Collaborative has undertaken a range of co-production and participation activities, which includes involving Experts by Experience (EbEs) in staff interviews, co-producing resources for young people, families, carers and staff to promote and explain how services work and engaging EbEs in development meetings to provide expert input and advice.
However, it was recognised that a more strategic approach was needed to embed participation and coproduction in the culture of the Provider Collaborative.
Participation People, a voluntary organisation, which has a wealth of experience in this area, has been appointed to support with the development of the strategy.
Dulcie, one of the Provider Collaborative's EbEs said:
"It has felt so good to see this process happening and to have been involved from the very start. I have been so interested in what the process looks like and how it comes to life. Participation is already so involved with the work the Provider Collaborative does, and the work I get involved in as an EbE is vast, so things can only get better and better with the help of Participation People. I cannot wait to get the participation creation started!"
