Beechwood Unit is for people who are experiencing behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia and need immediate treatment and support.

When you are admitted to the service, we will work with you and your family/ carers to assess and identify your mental health and care needs. We will then produce a personalised care plan to support your future needs.

We are a multi-disciplinary team which includes a consultant doctor, ward doctor, matron, ward manager, nurses, psychologist, occupational and drama therapists, physician associate, health care assistant, discharge co-ordinator, and administrators

Bus services 231 (Compass Travel), 318 and 331 (Seaford and District) stop at the entrance to the hospital on Framfield Road.

Community bus services 248 and 249 run by CTLA stop inside the hospital grounds and offer a limited service on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. For bookings and enquiries call 01273 517332.

Community bus service 262 run by Wealdlink offers a limited service. For information and bookings call 01892 771332.

Other buses serve Uckfield Bus Station. Uckfield Community Hospital is approximately 0.6 miles from Uckfield Bus Station.

By train

Opening times

The Beechwood Unit is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you wish to visit, please call the unit and arrange a date and time. We ask that visitors avoid visiting during main mealtimes, which are 12pm to 1.30pm and 5pm to 6.30pm.

When visiting the unit, a surgical mask should be worn to comply with current Covid-19 guidelines.
