Amberstone
At Amberstone we support people with long-term mental health conditions. We work in partnership with the local authority and community teams to help people to re-learn skills and build independence to support them back into the community.
The service is for adults with psychosis and other complex and enduring mental health conditions.
You'll receive 24/7 support from staff and will have an intensive rehabilitation experience. This pathway is for people who have experienced a relapse in their mental health and need an extended period of inpatient rehabilitation. You'll have support from a specialist team including a psychiatrist, nurses, occupational therapists, support workers, occupational therapy assistants and discharge liaison. You'll have a care plan tailored to your rehabilitation needs and will be supported to work on goals to increase your independence in order to prepare to go back into the community.
We have five members of staff on each shift on the ward. This includes nurses and support workers who are available to support you and ensure your needs are being met. In addition, there is an occupational therapy team who provide a group programme and 1:1 assessment, with interventions tailored to your own rehabilitation needs. We have a registered general nurse to support your physical health needs, and two psychiatrist consultants and a specialist psychiatrist to oversee your treatment. We also have two psychologists who offer psychological interventions and family therapy. A peer support worker with lived experience of mental health is available should you want their support, and a substance misuse nurse provides group and 1:1 support for people who have substance or alcohol misuse history.
