Connolly House

Connolly House is a 14-bed mixed-gender inpatient rehabilitation unit located in Chichester, dedicated to supporting individuals living with psychosis. Our mission is to empower people to achieve their personal goals and lead independent, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.

At Connolly House, we help people:

  • Prevent relapse and identify triggers
  • Manage medication effectively
  • Build daily living skills (cooking, budgeting, shopping, self-care)
  • Participate in meaningful activities
  • Improve social inclusion

The service is flexible: individuals can progress through levels of support or join at the stage that fits their recovery journey.

At Connolly House, we aim to:

  • Provide holistic, personalised care
  • Promote social inclusion and participation in the wider community to achieve personal recovery goals.

The functions of the service are to:

  • Provide a comprehensive assessment of the individuals physical, psychological and social needs to develop personalised care plans
  • Provide comprehensive risk assessment to inform the development of risk management plans that, where appropriate, will use a positive risk-taking approach in keeping with recovery values
  • Provide a holistic range of evidence-based recovery-focused interventions to support recovery
  • Reduce the frequency of admissions to mental health services
  • Increase engagement with meaningful occupational, social and recreational activities

Our services include:

  • 24-hour care and supervision
  • Medication management, including Clozapine monitoring
  • Structured therapeutic activities and group sessions
  • Support for education, training, and employment
  • Speech and Language Therapy (SALT)
  • Comprehensive post-discharge planning
  • Advocacy and peer support services
  • Chaplaincy support

  • Promote meaningful recovery
  • Enhance quality of life
  • Foster community participation

Our team provides evidence-based interventions, develops life skills, supports independent living, and ensures care is tailored to cultural, spiritual, and individual needs.

  • Matron, ward manager, and nursing staff
  • Clinical psychologist
  • Occupational therapists and therapy assistants
  • Speech and Language Therapist (SALT)
  • Dual Diagnosis Worker
  • Peer Support Worker
  • Chaplain
  • Pharmacy staff
  • Support workers 
  • Peer Support

Every service user has a primary nurse to support recovery planning and daily care. Staff work closely with families, carers, and community services to ensure a smooth recovery journey.

We are flexible when it comes to visiting; however, we ask visitors to try to avoid meal times if possible. Please call ahead to arrange visits so they do not conflict with scheduled activities or meetings.
