New course for carers on complex emotional needs

8 December 2023

Do you support someone with Personality Disorder or emotional intensity difficulties?

Our Complex Emotional Needs team are offering a six-week psychoeducational course which aims to provide carers with information that builds their understanding around complex emotional needs (CEN).

CEN might mean that the person you support has a formal diagnosis of 'personality disorder', or they might have similar experiences, for example, emotional intensity, unstable self-image, or risky and impulsive behaviours.

We understand the importance of providing space for carers to learn more about the difficulties your loved one experiences, as well as connecting with other carers to share experiences and improve your own wellbeing.

Some of the topics covered in the course include:

  • What is Personality Disorder?
  • How does it develop?
  • Understanding self-harm
  • Self-care for carers

Course dates 2024

All courses run for six weeks and are delivered online via Zoom with a pre-course introduction session.

Support and information around accessing Zoom will also be provided.

We recommend attending all six sessions to get the most out of the course.
