Sussex NHS Charities unite for Walk for Wards Event this September

NHS Charities in Sussex are uniting to launch Walk for Walks 2021, challenging participants to take on either a 5km or 10km route, raising vital funds for the NHS Charity that means the most to them. This special event takes place on Sunday 5 September at Glynde Estate in Lewes and will see supporters travelling from across Sussex to take part.
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s charity, Heads On, is coordinating the event for the NHS Charities participating. Rachael Duke, Head of Charity at Heads On, remarked: “This really has been a year like none of us have seen before. Patients and staff have all felt the pressures of the pandemic in the way our services are delivered as well as to our personal lives.”

We are thrilled to be coming together with the other NHS Charities to deliver such a special event and we look forward to welcoming participants to celebrate and support their NHS services in Sussex.”
Tucked away in the heart of the South Downs, Glynde Estates offers a beautiful backdrop for all the walkers and runners for this remarkable day.
Participating NHS charities are Heads On (Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s charity), BSUH Charity (Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals’ charity), East Sussex NHS Charity, Sussex Community NHS Charity, SASH Charity (Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust’s charity) and QVC Charity (Queen Victoria Hospital’s charity). All participants can choose to fundraise for an individual charity or for all the participating ones.
Registration is £10 for an adult, £5 for a child and £25 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. This fee includes entry to the event at Glynde Estate, and a t-shirt and medal when you cross the finish line, commemorating this one of a kind event.
