Children's Mental Health Week, 7-13 February 2022

7 February 2022

It’s Children's Mental Health Week, an annual national campaign run by Place2Be charity. This year's campaign theme is 'growing together', asking us all to consider how we have grown emotionally and physically and how we can help others to grow too.

The pandemic has been a challenging time for all of us, no more so than for children and young people, with disruption to their schooling, not seeing friends or being able to take part in the activities they enjoy. It's more important than ever that we support our young people with their mental health, and help to give them the tools to help them manage when times are challenging for them, such as during exams, changes in their family, bereavement and loss, etc.

We have two websites specifically for children and young people in Sussex and Hampshire, which have lots of really helpful resources and tips, including Recipes 4 Wellbeing which are a series of 15 handy cards for parents/carers, each focusing on a different issue, with easy to follow tips of how to support your young person. There are also separate areas on the websites for parents/carers, and professionals with information for them about how to support a young person with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
