Recognition for teams at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Staff, volunteers, patients and carers at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust have been recognised at a special awards ceremony.
The Positive Practice Awards event, held annually by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, celebrates individuals and teams for their innovation, dedication and outstanding contributions to improving care and support for people across Sussex, along with their families and carers.
This year's awards categories were adapted to reflect the new Trust values of compassion, accountability and optimism, which were co-produced with people with lived experience of mental ill health (Experts by Experience (EBEs), staff and partners, as part of our new organisational strategy.
The event was attended by staff, EBEs, families and carers, volunteers and partner organisations. More than 350 nominations were received for nine categories, which included awards for innovation, commitments to sustainability, working in partnership, as well as two special awards from the CEO and Chair.
There were many examples of commitment and dedication, including colleagues who transformed patient care and experience through innovation, compassion and collaboration. They included clinical teams who demonstrated outstanding dedication — from creating calmer, safer wards and reducing hospital stays, to empowering people to find their voice and shape their own recovery. Non-clinical colleagues showed the same commitment - improving environments, strengthening partnerships and delivering projects that made people feel seen, valued and supported.
Individuals and teams were recognised for putting our patients first, ensuring that patients, families and carers remain at the heart of everything we do.
